JOB FAIR hosted by the American Statististical Association, Southern CA chapter

The Southern California chapter of the American Statistical Association (est 1925) brings together statisticians, bio-statisticians and data scientists/analysts/engineers. As of 2021, we have over 200 members and growing.

The Virtual Job Fair will connect local (and remote) employers with our members who are interested in new opportunities. This event will also be free to graduating students.

Data Analysis in Cal Poly Sports

Do you have an interest in doing data analysis and app development in sports at Cal Poly?

Nick Ashbaugh, a current Cal Poly STAT major, is the volunteer Technical Coordinator for the Cal Poly Women’s Volleyball Team doing data analysis and coding, and he's looking for a student to fill this role.

It's a great way to get involved on campus and be surrounded by a great group of players and coaches. All it takes is to fill out one google form to potentially get involved. No background in volleyball needed.

BIG DATA SUMMER INSTITUTE - Univ. of Michigan

This full time 6-week on-campus summer institute will introduce undergraduate students to emerging challenges at the intersection of Big Data, Statistics, and Human Health.
Lectures will be led by a diverse group of stellar biostatistics, statistics, electrical engineering, and computer science faculty at the University of Michigan. Faculty from biomedicine and public health will present their perspective of big data. Working in teams, students will participate in mentored big data research projects.

Data Science Recruiting Workshop

Cal Poly Data Science Club and STAT Club are hosting a week long data science interview workshop to answer all these questions!

January 10-13,  6-8pm (building 53 room 202) we will be covering every aspect of the data science interview process from application to final interview.

    * cracking the technical interviews
