Advance Your Future in Data Science – Join Berkeley’s MA Statistics Info Session

 

Dear Advisors & Departments, We are excited to invite your students to a virtual information session about UC Berkeley’s MA in Statistics program on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. PST via Zoom. This session offers a chance to learn more about our rigorous one-year program, which provides training in areas like probability theory, statistical methods, and data analysis, with opportunities to specialize in fields such as machine learning, causal inference, natural language processing and more. Nov. 12: UC Davis Statistics Master's & PhD Info Session (Zoom)

We are currently accepting applications to the UC Davis Statistics Master’s and PhD programs and would like to invite your students to attend our upcoming virtual UC Davis Statistics Master's & PhD Info Session on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 3:00 – 4:00pm. Hosted by Department Chair Jiming Jiang, faculty members Wolfgang Polonik and Jie Peng, and staff members Andi Carr and Amy McFarland, the Info Session will provide information on the UC Davis Statistics Master's and PhD programs, admissions, graduate school, and life at UC Davis. California Capital Fellowship Program--Application Deadline is December 8

Hello,

The California Capital Fellows Program is accepting applications until December 8^th. Capital Fellows spend 10-11 months as paid, full time employees working in a Legislative, Executive or Judicial Branch office. Capital Fellows are placed at some of the highest levels of California state government and assist state legislators, senior-level executive staff, and court administrators with a broad range of public policy issues and projects and are typically given assignments with a significant amount of responsibility and challenges.

 

Placement opportunities for Fellows may include departments and offices such as the Superior Court of California; California Department of Food and Agriculture; Department of Health Services; Office of the Secretary of State; directly in the offices of California Assembly or Senate members.

 

Cal Poly has a robust reputation with the program and strong track record of applicants being selected for a Fellowship, with Cal Poly typically having anywhere from 1 to 3 students selected to participate each year. I highly encourage you to share this opportunity with students who are graduating this year and are interested in applying their skills and knowledge in the state policy arena. Students from all majors are encouraged to apply.

 

The Capital Fellows Programs are nationally recognized public policy fellowships which offer unique experiences in policy-making and development in each branch of California's state government.

 

All Fellows receive:

• Paid, fulltime employment, as well as medical, dental and vision benefits;
• One-time moving allowance of $875 (non-taxable);
• Paid university enrollment and earn six graduate units;
• Student loan deferment; and
• Upon successful completion of the fellowship, a Graduate Certificate in Applied Policy and Government

 

Application & Selection Process

All applications must include the following materials:

• Completed online application,
• Personal statement and program or policy statement,
• Resume,
• Three letters of recommendation,
• Transcripts from each college and university attended.
