There's an
international competition in mathematical modeling held every year over 4
days in January or February called the Mathematical Contest in Modeling
(or MCM); the 2021 MCM will be held February
4-8, 2021. This contest is open to any undergraduate
student enrolled at Cal Poly (full or part time) and is appropriate for
undergraduates at any level. Unfortunately, it's not open to students
who already have post-baccalaureate standing. It is open to any major
as well - it can be a competitive advantage in the MCM to have an
interdisciplinary team.
