Intership Position - Behavioral Health Department, County of San Luis Obispo

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Cultural Competence Data Analysis & Reporting Intern

This is an intern, hourly paid position under the Behavioral Health Quality Support Team
Division. The DEI - CC Data Analysis and Reporting Intern is responsible for the following:

  • Collect behavioral health data for the Cultural Competence Plan and support its development;
  • Coordinate analysis and report DEI Cultural Competence training data for the Behavioral Health Department and its contracted partners on a yearly basis and maintain a log;
  • Coordinate and provide support to the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee’s goals and objectives;
  • Provide support to the work and strategies built within the DEI Committee’ workgroups;
  • Provide administrative support in completing organizational level revision of policies and procedures, training activities, and internal strategies;
  • Strategize time management and appropriate task completion; including creating templates and formulas to produce reporting as required;
  • Other responsibilities will include attending staff meetings, designing and completing administrative projects individually.
Skills and Competencies
  • Background in Ethnic Studies, Political Science, Public Policy, Business Administration,  and/or Statistics
  • Personal and professional passion for justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion as a driven force for social change
  • In-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and popular online platforms
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and report
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent qualitative analysis and reporting
