Fall 2027 applications for Biostatistics PhD and MS Programs at UC San Diego are now open. Part of the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health & Human Longevity Science (HWSPH), the programs are embedded in UC San Diego Health Sciences, a premier academic health system. Our PhD Program has recently earned a place on the prestigious U.S. News and World Report Best Biostatistics Programs ranking list.
We encourage applications from highly motivated individuals who possess a strong quantitative background, a deep interest in scientific problems in public health, biology, and medicine, and are passionate about making a difference. They thrive in the UC San Diego scientific ecosystem and emerge ready to join the expanding field of Biostatistics.
The admission application deadlines for each program are –
- Doctoral (PhD): Wednesday, December 2, 2026
- Master of Science (MS): Wednesday, January 6, 2027 (GRE not required)
*if you are applying to the doctoral (PhD) program and would like to be considered for the Master of Science (MS) program, you must submit your application by the deadline of December 2, 2026.
