Dr. Holland Smith from INFICON will be visiting Cal Poly Oct. 9.
If you have any interest in operations research, optimization, machine learning, stochastic models, or just want to hear a really good speaker, you are invited to his talk (see flyer)
Details: 6:10-7:30 (probably 192-237).
But I especially want to invite you to a “meet and greet” with Dr. Smith from 4 – 5:30 pm in 180-331 before hand. There will be pizza!
Feel free to come ask questions about working in the semiconductor industry or about how he sees the role of machine learning in forecasting etc.
This will be informal discussion, not a presentation.
Please email me at bchance@calpoly.edu if you are interested in attending any portion of the meet and greet so we can get a rough headcount. (And you may notice the room of the talk may change, so maybe let me know if you think you can attend that as well to help with planning 😊).
Thanks!
Beth Chance
